Ricinolsäure

Vorkommen und Beschreibung
Ricinolsäure (syn.: Rizinolsäure, Rizinusölsäure, 12-Hydroxy-9-octadecensäure) ist eine ungesättigte, linear gebaute Omega-9-Fettsäure. Die Gewinnung erfolgt durch Hydrolyse von Rizinusöl (siehe auch dort). Das Zinksalz der Ricinolsäure (Zinc ricinoleate) dient als desodorierender Zusatz in Deostoffen und als Geruchsbinder in Cremes, Lotionen und Fußpflegeprodukten. Sodium ricinoleate ist das Natriumsalz der Ricinolsäure. Es wird zur Herstellung von Seifen verwendet.

Allergologie (Relevanz)
Kontaktallergische Reaktionen sind in wenigen Einzelfällen beschrieben. Sodium ricinoleate kann irritativ auf die Haut und Schleimhaut wirken sowie auch Typ IV-Sensibilsierungen auslösen. .
